Below is a list of policies pertaining to lessons at the Signature Sounds School of Music. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact our staff at any time to discuss them. By paying your first month’s tuition and attending a full lesson you are agreeing to the terms of these policies.
What you’ll need:
Students are required to have the following items present at each lesson, rehearsal or event:
● Instrument (if applicable)● Method books● Lesson materials required by teacher● Notebook / practice log● Pencil(s)
Please come to all lessons with the required materials! Failure to come to lessons prepared will hinder your progress as a musician, and may result in your teacher being unable to teach to the best of their abilities.
Scheduling Policy:
• Lessons must be scheduled on a weekly basis (i.e., lessons cannot be scheduled on a bi-weekly basis or at other larger intervals).
• Should you miss an extended period of time (i.e., 3 straight weeks or more), your lesson slot will not be held and may be given to another student. Notwithstanding the foregoing, lesson slots can be reserved via the payment of fifty percent (50%) of the lesson fee for the missed lessons.
Cancellation / Re-Scheduling Policy:
● A minimum of 24 hours advance notice must be given if you are going to miss a lesson.
If notice is given with more than 24 hours’ notice: you will be issued a make-up credit. You will have thirty (30) days from the lesson to reschedule your make-up or the credit will expire. This credit cannot be used with preexisting lessons. Alternatively, you can be issued a refund of the lesson fee, which refund will be credited against a future invoice subject to a Ten Dollar ($10.00) cancellation fee.
If notice is given with less than 24 hours’ notice: you will be billed for the lesson and not issued a make-up credit. Exceptions may be made in very limited circumstances (e.g., injury, family emergencies, very severe weather) in the sole discretion of Signature Sounds.
● If WE need to cancel a lesson or close the studio for any reason, you will be given as much notice as circumstances permit. You will then have the option to make up the lesson as soon as it can be rescheduled or hold the credit and apply it to your next invoice.
● If after your first lesson you determine Signature Sounds’ lessons are not for you, you are eligible for a refund for the remaining three (3) lessons if a written cancellation request is received by us within 24 hours of the completion of the first lesson. After that 24-hour cancellation window, there are NO REFUNDS. Should an emergency occur, make-up credits will be applied to your account in the sole discretion of Signature Sounds. ● Signature Sounds is not responsible for lost, damaged or stolen property that’s left on our premises. We are also not responsible for any injuries or accidents that happen while on property, even if we have been advised of the possibility of same. Use caution at all times outside the premises, in our hallways and classrooms, and as you travel to/from your lessons. ● Though you may terminate your lessons at any time, you will only receive a refund for remaining credits as set forth above.
Tuition Policy:
● Tuition is due by the first of every month and will cover the entirety of that month. We accept electronic payment (credit/debit card) through MyMusicStaff, or check.● If your tuition is not timely paid, there will be an automatic Ten Dollar ($10.00) late payment fee added to your invoiced amount. Further, lessons will be withheld and you will lose your lesson slot if payment is more than seven (7) days late.● If you know you have a conflict with a lesson within the month you are paying for, please discuss it with us prior to the time of payment and accommodations will be made. Failure to do so before the first of the month means you must pay for the amount due on the invoice and you will be subject to the Cancellation / Re-Scheduling Policy set forth above.● Invoices will be sent out approximately eleven (11) days prior to the end of each month.● Invoices for the coming month can be updated until the second to last day of the month (e.g., Jan 30th for February invoice). Invoices will not be updated after the 1st day of the month no matter the circumstance.
